EVACUATION CHAIR TRAINING

THE IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING THE CORRECT WAY TO OPERATE YOUR EVAC+CHAIR

Fire and safety requirements and emergency response guidelines recognise the importance to ensure all occupants, including those with disabilities can evacuate a building in an emergency.

In an emergency, elevators cannot be used for evacuation, so stairs are the main escape route from a facility for all persons.  For the disabled and mobility impaired this is a major problem in an emergency situation, so Evac+Chair evacuation chairs must be considered.

Evac+Chair evacuation chairs offer safe evacuation for any people unable to use stairs for evacuation to lower levels and can be operated by only one person.

When using Evac+Chair evacuation chairs, you must ensure that the persons within the building are trained to use the Evac+Chair, via internal evacuation training or by an Evac+Chair Certified Trainer.  When choosing an evacuation chair training course, you must ensure your employees receive comprehensive theoretical and practical training from a fully qualified and experienced trainer.
